Red and white striped elf hat perfect for the upcoming holidays!

It certainly doesn't feel like fall today but pretty soon the colder days will be upon us ... and I can't wait for that to get here!  I'm not a big fan of the Virginia summers so I'm looking forward to fall and winter weather.  So to celebrate the upcoming cooler weather here is a little cheery hat I made and just listed in my Etsy shop.  I'll be taking it to the Archwood Green barns farmers market in The Plains tomorrow so if you're interested in getting it better do it now as I don't make most of my items more then once.  I do get bored pretty quickly making the same stuff so I'm constantly making new things.  I never follow any written patterns, I always do "my own thing" as I get bored following instructions and end up making up the pattern as I move along.

Anyways, here is the little hat I just listed.  It will make for a cute holiday photo prop for that little on in the family!

Sleeping on my back, another hat and one more book

I'm soooooo tired of sleeping on my back with this darn sling on.  I find myself laying almost completely flat on my back although I start the night with still being propped up on two pillows and another one underneath my left arm to keep it in place.  The sling makes it so my arm sticks up in the air due to the metal thing it rests on and which is attached to my waist.  Went to my follow up appointment and yeahhhhh only two more weeks wearing this darn sling!  Then physical therapy can start which part of me is looking forward too but I know it's going to be painful so not looking forward to that part of this ordeal.  In the meantime I can type and do some things like sewing and knitting but only a few rows at a time although I must say I've moved up to about 10 rows.  Doc was impressed by the range of motion I have in the shoulder he did surgery on so that was good to hear.  Only thing that really bugs me is that when I do move my shoulder like when I take the sling off for my passive exercises or to get dressed I can actually feel (not as in touching it with my hand) but more mentally I guess is the way to describe it, where the anchors are located in my shoulder joint.  Kinda weird, but that's where it hurts the most when I move my shoulder.  That's the spot where he reattached the labrum and I realize that needs to heal and hopefully that feeling will go away by then.  Anyway, I just can't wait to start stretching that arm out and hopefully down the road without any pain doing just that.

Alright, enough about my shoulder ... on to fun things ... I just sewed together this cute little red hat I made and crocheted the white pom poms.  Doesn't it look cute!  I started making a smaller version of this one since it doesn't take much effort to knit these and my arm is getting better I hope to get this one done for the December 2nd Christmas market I will attend.  More about that in a different post since I don't have all the details for it yet.  I'll be out of my sling by then!!!  Yeahhhhh!!!  I figure I will take it along tho because I know I'll be stretching and reaching for things across the table when I'm at the market.  Thank God my 16 yr old is going along with me to set up and help me, I really wouldn't be able to do this without her at this point.

Then I also just listed another one of my knitting books.  I have way too many books on hand and need to make room for other books!  Sounds like the perfect excuse to buy some more.  These books are in excellent condition and could even be purchased to give as a gift to somebody who loves knitting obviously!  They are listed in my BitsOfFiber shop on Etsy.  The Minnow Knits book by Jil Eaton has the cutest most unique outfits I've seen in a long time.  Wish I had more time to knit when my daughter was little.  Here is the link to this one:

A little bright hat to cheer you up!

Yeah, finished another little hat which I had knitted before my surgery ... just needed to add some bobbles.  I figured with having to get my shoulder fixed I wouldn't be able to knit for a bit so I knitted and crocheted a bunch of items ahead of time and left the finishing touches for doing after the surgery.  I must say ... this is working out very well.  I am able to knit a little bit at a time right now, it's been two weeks since the surgery.  And yeahhhhh, I can type using both my hands now.  Still have to take it easy.  I can tell this healing is going to take a long time.

Anyways, here is the little bright apple green hat I just listed in my shop.  I'm working on finishing up another one which is for a smaller baby, more like a newborn to 3 month old.  That one is a dark moss green and will have off white crocheted buttons on it with red thread in the middle.  Not sure yet what will be on the top, either a tassel or something else.

This little hat has been sold

White and red baby christmas hat and a country treasury

I love the combination of white and red for Christmas items. I just finished knitting this little baby Christmas hat http://www.etsy.com/listing/83290932/cream-and-red-baby-christmas-hat . It's a cream colored yarn with a bright red knitted in acrylic yarns so it can be tossed in the washing machine for easy care.

Also made another treasury this morning and I named it "Hugs from the country". Enjoy your day everybody. It's going to be another gorgeous one here in Virginia! Yeahhh!

Christmas hat for baby!

It's never too early to start shopping for the Holidays you know! This cute little hat will fit a newborn to a 3/6 month old ... depending on how big the baby's head is. It can easily be rolled up to make it fit a really small baby and unrolled as baby grows into it. I added a jingle bell at the end of the hat but crocheted around it so the sound is muffled to avoid the annoying constant jingle! Just listed in my BitsofFiber shop on Artfire.

More Christmas stuff for the Christmas Market and Etsy Shop!

The pixie/Christmassy hat I knitted with an acrylic yarn so it can be tossed in the washing machine and the dryer.

The little owl I needle felted with sheep's fleece and Alpaca fleece. They are both in my Etsy Shop so check it out if you like to see more pictures of the hat and the Owl.

I'm bummed ... yesterday I cut one of my fingers at work with the exacto knife. It's pretty deep and hurts when I bump into things. We wrapped it up pretty good and used a butterfly tape on it so I didn't need to get stitches. It's so darn inconvenient especially since I'm trying to make all these things for the coming markets. At least it's on my left hand, it could have been worse if it had been my right one. I can still knit ... although a heck of a lot slower then normal and the fuzz of the yarn gets stuck on the tape! I can felt, halelujah! Only thing I totally can not do right now is crochet, maybe in a couple of days when I can put a regular bandage on it I can manage. Anyway, typing is alright except when I have to type certain letters since it's my pointing finger that's got the booboo. Alright enough feeling sorry for myself ... my finger is starting to hurt so I'll stop for now.
