Socks, socks I need more socks! Making more sock dolls!

I'm in love making these silly, sweet, crazy sock dolls and kitties.  Not much time to be blogging while switching between making the dolls, cat toys, playing with my dogs, baking and since the weather is warming up ... yard work.   So not much talking but here are some pictures of my newest creations.

Irish sock doll

Yeahhh finally finished my Saint Patrick's sock doll.   Love her hair but it drove me bonkers since that "fancy yarn" sheds like crazy when you trim it.  But I think I finally got it under control.   Anyways, she's up for sale in my BitsOfFiber Etsy shop.   She's a one of a kind so don't wait to purchase her if you like her.  Everything is sewn by hand and can not be removed so not for small children.   You can put her hair up in a bun but do NOT brush it, just use your hands to put it where you want it.

Bunnies and carrots

Oh yes, Easter will be here before you know it!

Just made a few more Easter related cat toys.  I must say both of these, the bunny as well as the carrots I can make without any catnip, just the fiberfill.  They would make for some cute Easter home decor or even for a nursery.  So if anyone is interested in bunny baby/kid toys, bunny garlands, carrots for home decor just shoot me a message with your request.  I’d be happy to make some of those for you.

Easter Bunny Sock Doll

Trying to keep up with making cat toys and yup another sock doll.

This one is an Easter bunny sock doll.  I’ve sewed everything by hand and none of the items are removable.  Her hair braids are tied and sewn so they can not be undone ... unless you get the scissors out!

Anyways, I do enjoy making dolls.  I would love to go back to making figurines out of Powertex which I started making when we were living in Alice Springs Australia since the product wasn’t available in the USA at the time.  It is now and has been since we moved back from down under which was in 2008.  Goodness that seems like sooooo long ago.  But for now I’m hooked on making sock dolls.  I just listed this cutie pie in my Bits Of Fiber shop on Etsy.   If you like her don’t wait to get her as I usually make just the one, the next one will be a different one.   Got some St. Patrick’s Day socks so gonna be working on that one next.

Purple Bunny Kitty Toy

I love love love purple and lavender colors.  They always make me happy when I make something with them.

Busy making bunny Easter toys for the MauveMoose shop.  Don't you just loooooove this batik fabric!?  I sure do.

I'm constantly making new toys and use fabrics for different designs.  So if you see an item you like don't wait to get it as I might not have more of that specific fabric.

More kitties and a bunny

 Been busy filling orders.

Finished these two little kittens.  If you are interested in purchasing a kitty then message me since I don't have any in my shop right now but I can certainly make you one.

Also been working on more baby octopus rattle toys to put in my BitsOfFiber Etsy shop.

And just started working on some new ideas for the cat toy shop.
Here is my first bunny I just listed in the MauveMoose shop.
More bunnies and other Spring and Easter toys to follow.

Socks, dolls, cats and more socks!

I’ve been wanting to make a cat sock doll but never liked any of the faces I’ve seen on other people’s sock dolls until I found one I liked.  So here she is ... and here she goes ... off to Oregon to make a young girl very happy since she was purchased by her grandma as a birthday gift.  And I’m making a couple more for another customer so needless to say I’m not bored these days since I’m still making cat toys as well.

We finally got some snow today a whole 8 inches of it!

My boots got all excited thinking they were back in Finland (where I was last year in February).
Had to give them the sad news ... nope sorry we’re back in Virginia ... but still enjoyed the snow.

Meet Annabelle, the bright and cheery sock doll

Oh my, time flies!  I can’t believe it’s been a month since I last posted.  But I do have a good excuse ... been busy, busy and more busy.  Cat toys have been flying out the door (a big thank you to all my kitty cat customers and their humans!).  Now that the Christmas rush is behind us I’m trying to get back into making things for my BitsOfFiber Etsy shop.  So here is Annabelle, a bright and cheery sock doll I made.  I’ve always enjoyed making dolls and figurines.  It gives me the chance to combine all the things I like to do, sewing, knitting, crocheting and making jewelry.  Although Annabelle isn’t wearing any jewelry.  I do want to start making dolls with clay body parts so I’m looking at taking some online classes in the near future.  But for now I’m having fun making sock dolls.
