Penguins dressed for the holidays and candy canes

Still working on more baby booties.  I just couldn’t resist making a pair with this fabric showing penguins dressed up for the holidays!  And for a matching fabric on the inside that would look cute wearing them on the outside when you turn them inside out I used the traditional candy cane pattern.  I just listed these in my Bits Of Fiber Etsy shop so hop on over if you want more details and more pictures of this pair of cute crib shoes for a Holiday baby!

Music lovers here are some rock and roll baby booties!

Yes, I’m still working on baby crib shoes.  These are so much fun to make.   So much faster once I remembered the pattern on how to sew each piece.  So far I’ve only made one error by sewing together 2 pieces on the wrong side.  Good thing I have plenty of extra fabric so when I do make a mistake I can always cut another piece of the one I messed up.

I’ve already cut out two more pairs, another Christmas one and an Irish one.  In between the booties I’m working on more cat toys as well.

Here are the musical ones I finished today.  If you like to get them don’t wait to order them!  Grab them from my BitsOfFiber etsy shop.

This time itty bitty presents newborn reversible baby shoes!

I know I’m still working on baby booties.  I’ve sold 3 pair of the ones with the pumpkin fabric.  I must say they are really cute and how many parents call their kid “pumpkin”?  I know I did.   But to switch it up a bit I made a new pair with a Holiday/Christmas design fabric that has cute little presents on the outside and the inside fabric is a fun polka dot one.  Of course since they are reversible you can have baby wear them with the polka dots showing or the pressents showing.  Up to you!

For those that noticed the price change from $17 to $20 that’s because I started making a gift bag to put them in.  I think it adds a nice little touch and fun for a baby shower gift.  The bag can always be used later for some other baby present.  I make them out of linen or muslin fabric and the patches are stamped depending on what kind of baby shoe you

They are up for grabs in my BitsOfFiber etsy shop.  Don’t hesitate or they will be gone and I can’t promise you I’ll be able to make another pair as I’m pretty busy with making the cat toys as well.

Little Star Wars Booties

Still working on baby booties to list in my Bits Of Fiber shop on Etsy.  Just listed these cute little ones today.  The outer layer with the Star Wars lettering is a soft flannel.  The inside is a cotton fabric with all the different Star Wars characters on it.  Now the cool thing about these booties is that they are reversible which means you can turn them inside out or outside in or however you want to say it you get the drift.  I do stitch the sole of the booties (like a quilting type thing) since I use a wool interfacing which makes the booties a bit more sturdy and with the stitching it stays inplace sandwiched between the two fabrics.

In case some of you noticed the price change from $17 to $20 that’s because I now also make a one of a kind gift bag that the booties come in.  I use either a linen or muslin type fabric whitch I either put a patch on stamped with baby related stamps (baby carriage, stork, etc.) or in this case I used another Star Wars fabric to make the patch.

With the upcoming holidays if a Star Wars fan is going to have a baby this will make for an awesome gift!

Newborn Halloween Crib Booties

Ok, so I’m on a roll with these baby booties.  It’s one of those things once I figure out how to make them I want to make more of them without looking at the instructions.  These seemed a bit complicated at first since they are reversible, it’s like making two and putting them into one.  It’s actually not that hard once I made the first pair I did have to look at a YouTube instruction to make sure I wasn’t messing it up but by the time I made the 3rd pair I didn’t even need to look at the instructions anymore.  It also helps when you are making the inside and the outside fabric two totally different fabric designs.  If inside and outside where the same it could get confusing.  So tadaaaaa here is yet another pair I made today!  It’s for kitty cat lovers and/or Halloween lovers so hop on over to my Etsy shop to grab this pair.  The pumpkin ones sold yesterday and are on the way to Georgia but I did list another pair just like it.  Tomorrow I’ll be working on a Star Wars pair of booties so stay tuned!  In the meantime here are some pics of the ones I made today and will be listing them in my shop in a bit.

Itty Bitty Reversible Newborn Kitty Cat Crib Booties

While my rusty bits are getting more rusty by the minute I’ve been working on making some other things.  Since we make cat toys we have plenty of fabric laying around so I decided to make some itty bitty baby shoes.  These are actually reversible so you can pick from showing off the silly kitty cat design or you can turn them inside out and have a totally new look showing off the rainbow paw print design!  I get antsy working on the same things all the time so you’ll find me listing different items in my BitsOfFiber shop on Etsy.  The cat toys I usually work on in the evenings while watching tv, the rest of my days I’m either at my day job at Wegmans or gardening or making more rusty bits.  BTW I’ve been gathering all the supplies I need to start working with those rusty bits, still have a few more to get before I can finally get going on that project.  So don’t give up trying to figure out what on earth I’ll be making with those I promise I’ll be sharing everything involved in the next couple of weeks.   In the meantime I’m making more baby booties and of course cat toys.
