Socks, dolls, cats and more socks!

I’ve been wanting to make a cat sock doll but never liked any of the faces I’ve seen on other people’s sock dolls until I found one I liked.  So here she is ... and here she goes ... off to Oregon to make a young girl very happy since she was purchased by her grandma as a birthday gift.  And I’m making a couple more for another customer so needless to say I’m not bored these days since I’m still making cat toys as well.

We finally got some snow today a whole 8 inches of it!

My boots got all excited thinking they were back in Finland (where I was last year in February).
Had to give them the sad news ... nope sorry we’re back in Virginia ... but still enjoyed the snow.

Meet Annabelle, the bright and cheery sock doll

Oh my, time flies!  I can’t believe it’s been a month since I last posted.  But I do have a good excuse ... been busy, busy and more busy.  Cat toys have been flying out the door (a big thank you to all my kitty cat customers and their humans!).  Now that the Christmas rush is behind us I’m trying to get back into making things for my BitsOfFiber Etsy shop.  So here is Annabelle, a bright and cheery sock doll I made.  I’ve always enjoyed making dolls and figurines.  It gives me the chance to combine all the things I like to do, sewing, knitting, crocheting and making jewelry.  Although Annabelle isn’t wearing any jewelry.  I do want to start making dolls with clay body parts so I’m looking at taking some online classes in the near future.  But for now I’m having fun making sock dolls.
