A beautiful autumn brown orangy pink nuno felted scarf

This one I made using a dark brown gauze silk fabric as the base which you can still see peeking through the felted parts.  I used a wool art yarn which has pink and orange colors running through it.  I used a tinted merino sheep's fleece in the middle and a nice brown for the edges.  The backside has a design for which I used a deep reddish pencil roving with a very fine layer of deep brown sheep's fleece.  This is a generously sized scarf which is more like a shawl I guess.  Will be taking it to the market on Sunday.  If you are interested in holding it for you or purchasing it on-line please convo me and we can figure out how to go about doing that.

This time a lace nuno felted scarf

This scarf I made with lace, yarn and the softest Merino sheep's fiber.  I love the way it turned out.  Think I have to make another one to keep for myself!   This one will be going to the Farmers Market with me on Sunday so if you like me to hold it for you let me know.  You can contact me via e-mail.
This scarf has been sold.

Nuno needle felted blue water scarf

Finally finished this scarf I started months ago! I actually started making this by needle felting it by hand while at the Farmers Market BUT THEN .... Santa gave me a needle felting machine and ta daaaaaaa, this makes my life in the felting world just a wee bit easier I must say. It still takes a long time doing it by machine versus by hand but the good thing is that it certainly saves me from getting tennis elbow again from doing all the needling by hand which is a lot of repetitive movement. Now if they could only come up with a way to make needle felting 3D sculptures a bit easier on the wrists and/or elbows I'd be a really happy camper. That's also one of the main reasons I constantly switch back and forth between making needle felted sculptures, knitting, crocheting, sewing, drawing, painting etc. It's all done with my hands but for each one you make different movements which saves me from getting tennis elbow and carpal tunnel.

I just listed this scarf in my PurplePlatypus shop http://www.etsy.com/listing/69321670/nuno-needle-felted-blue-water-scarf if you're interested in purchasing it.

Itty bitty tomato hat and a one-of-a-kind felted handbag

Finally got the chance to take some pics before taking off for work this morning. Here is an itty bitty tomato hat for a newborn, just listed in my Bits of Fiber shop on Artfire.

And this handbag will be listed in my PurplePlatypus shop on Etsy later this evening. It's a one of a kind item. I felted pieces of blue seashells on the front of the bag trapped between the fleece and silk handkerchiefs in variegated blues. I then embroidered the top front section of the bag with different types of thread. I added some glass beads in turquoise and champagne to give the effect of water. The flowers I made out of fabric, each petal cut and singes over an open flame and finished with a pearl button in the middle and sewn onto the bag. Hope you like it!

More felting ...

A customer of mine has asked to make some jewelry baggies so off I went making some. Here are 3 of them. Depending on which one she will pick I will be putting the other ones in my Etsy shop so be on the look out if you like these.

Snowflake Scarf!

Finally finished this snowflake scarf I've been working on forever it seems! This time I used a darker chiffon background to show off the flakes more. I'll be putting it in my PurplePlatypus shop later today so if you're interested go and have a look. I'm working on a new design for spring, so no snowflakes but something different. As long as I can get it to turn out the way I have it in my head, which can be a challenge sometimes. I know exactly how I want it to look but getting to that look is not easy sometimes. I like to do things different then what the book tells me ... I start out following instructions or patterns and then my mind just totally refuses to follow what it says and off I go ... doing my own thing. Bad part is that if it's something I need to duplicate (like knitting another sleeve ...) "Houston, we have a problem!" since I have a dislike on writing down how I've changed the pattern and made up my own! Maybe someday they will come up with an electronic devise that can keep track of that and make my life a heck of a lot easier!

Pink Snowflake Scarf

This seems like a never ending project! But, it's almost done ... a little bit more work adding fleece on the back, then off to the basement for the wet felting process and maybe by tomorrow I can take pictures of it and put it on Etsy! I just wish I could somehow keep the real fluffiness of the edges the way they are now like in the pictures. Unfortunately after the wet felting part it will be down a lot except for the curly locks I used they will stick up a bit. If anybody knows of a way to keep this fluffy look let me know!!!
