Christmas Market on December 8th Cancelled due to weather! BUT I will be at the Christmas Market on December 15th.

So sorry we had to cancel our Christmas Market today due to the snow and ice but better be safe then sorry!

I had planned on being there today only but it looks like I will be able to attend next weeks Christmas Market on December 15th at the Archwood Green Barns in The Plains, Virginia.  Make sure you check your calendars and come see us in the smaller barn (which is heated!) NEXT SUNDAY, December 15th from 10 am till 3 pm.  Now I love snow but I'm hoping we will NOT have snow nor ice next Sunday.

Today I'm taking photos and putting my items up for sale in my shop(s) for those of you who can't make it next weekend or don't live in the area hop on over to my shops and check out what I got.  Just click on the links to my Etsy and Zibbet shops to find me.

Here are a couple of photos of what I'll be listing starting today.

Felt Owl Ornaments ~ Gift Toppers
Use them to decorate a baby room!

                      Mini hand painted doll ornament
She is made with recycled wool sweater material, glass beads, sheep's fleece, ribbons and her head is a covered button which I hand painted her face on.  She would make a lovely addition to your heirloom ornaments or doll collection.

Recycled sweater and jeans mice pincushions!
Perfect gift for that crafter in the family. They sit up or lay them down, either way they will be happy to keep your pins and needles in a safe place!

             Recycled Bottle Cap RING Pincushions!
Perfect stocking stuffers or little gifts for that quilter or crafter on your Holiday List.  The ring part is a piece of elastic secured inside the bottle cap which I covered with felt on which I embroidered on.

I have lots more baby hats I need to take pictures of before I can list them so needless to say I will not be bored on this cold and snowy day!  Keep checking back for more items!

Oh so soft Mice baby booties and my broken wing

So I tried sleeping in our bed 2 nights ago but that only lasted for a couple of hours.   I did prop myself up with strategically placed pillows but I found myself awake an hour later with my broken wing (as my husband calls it) hurting.  So off I went downstairs this time trying out the big couch instead of the sofa chair which had been working for me its just that I really wanted to sleep in a lower position.  So for these past 2 nights I've been sleeping on the big sofa.  My slinged arm wedged between the back of the sofa, pillows and my body.   I try not to get frustrated but I must say it's driving me nuts sometimes.   I usually get up and go non-stop all day long doing things but this broken wing has really messed up my speed.  I know its only temporary (I hope!) and pretty soon (well if you consider 3 months to be soon!) I'll be able to fly again using both of my wings.

Didn't take any pain meds yesterday.  I'm not trying to be a tough cookie, they put me to sleep which was fine for the first couple of days, believe me I needed them then for the pain.  The pain I get now is mostly when I do my PT.  I do get a dull ache or pinches sometimes not doing anything at all but those only last for a short time.  Still using ice packs which are probably helping to control the pain as well.

I'm so glad I still have bunches of items to list in our shops since I can use the PC with one hand for now.  So for today I listed these oh so soft mice baby shoes I made.

A Chrismissy Pincushion

I made this pincushion from a sweater I fulled in the washing machine. I embroidered it with mercerized cotton and filled it with dried rice (to weigh it down a bit), fiberfill and dried lavender. I just listed it in my Etsy shop http://www.etsy.com/listing/77872896/felted-embroidered-pincushion so go and have a peak of you like to see more pictures. Thanks for looking and feel free to share!

Recycled sweaters turn into Toadstool baby shoes!

So instead of using felt I made myself I decided to use some of my stash of fulled sweater which I use for making mixed media cuffs and pincushions. Of course I couldn't help but putting something on them using the needle felting technique. I wanted to use something that would work for a boy or girl so therefore the toadstools. The closure band looked kinda heavy and took away from the more dainty toadstools so I made it narrower by using the pinking shears on them and needle felting some dots on it which made them look a lot better. I got about 2 other designs in my head for some more fun little shoes like this but first things first ... I need to finish needle felting this owl I started a couple of weeks ago. Poor thing is missing eyes, a beak and his wings need to be attached so off I go. Hope you like these little forest shoes! Find them in my BitsofFiber shop on Artfire if you're interested in purchasing them. Thanks for stopping by.

Valentine stuff

I've been working on Valentine's Day items for my shop but the two I had finished are already sold and on the way to Oregon ... (Thank you Debra!). I'll have 2 more things for the shop, I just need to take pictures of them. The pictures in this post are of the items that sold.
