Been busy making more of these cute little owls. They are cat toys but I can make them without catnip and turn them into Christmas ornaments. If you are interested in these but want them as home decor or tree ornaments just shoot me a message and let me know. These two will be listed in the https://mauvemoose.etsy.com shop later today.

Another little hoot for the MauveMoose shop
When I make a new cat toy I usually wait to make more of the same or similar ones until that first one sells. That way I don’t waste my time making things that don’t sell. Well it seems that the little owl cat toys are liked by many. All of the ones I’ve made so far have sold, which means I’ll be making more of them except none of them are exactly alike. I like change. I get bored making the exact same thing twice or more times so I change it up by using different fabrics. With the holidays upon us I decided to make some little owls using different holiday fabrics.
Here is a Christmas one I made … but it already flew the nest!

Holiday Elf Cat Kicker Toy
Been working on Christmas cat toys and came up with this one.
It’s stuffed with fiberfil and yummy organic catnip. It will be in the MauveMoose Etsy shop later today. I’m also working on a photo video tutorial on how to make your own which will be posted on Youtube. Will post it here on my blog once it’s up and running.
Here is the link to it in the Etsy shop: https://mauvemoose.etsy.com/listing/1789743249

Tutorials on my Youtube Channel
I always liked to teach and/or train people. Funny thing is that I never wanted to be an actual teacher. For years I worked admin jobs and caught myself always thinking about what artsy, craftsy project I would want to work on next after work. While working the admin jobs I typed up training manuals (if there weren't any) as to how to do those jobs. I also ended up training new people when they came into the departments I worked in and enjoyed doing it. So, I guess starting a Youtube channel just made sense to me. I watched many video's and found I didn't like many videos where the creator talks ... sometimes they talked too fast, other times too slow, other times I just didn't like the way their voice sounded ... so I found myself not wanting to watch the video till the end. I then started looking at the "no face" videos to see what that's all about ... and nope ... the hand movements which are visible in many of those drove me nuts for some reason. I wanted to hear what my own voice sounds like on a video so I did a couple of test videos but realized that with this huge construction project (300 new homes) right behind my own place creates so much noise I decided against it. I know I can make the video and do a talk over later in the day when the construction workers have gone home but I haven't taken the time on how to go about doing that. Years ago when I worked in the HR department for Allstate I made flip charts for the training sessions and enjoyed doing those so I figured I could do photo video's which is basically making a training manual with pictures. Maybe down the road I might end up doing voice videos but for now I'm doing the photo videos with written instructions. Geezzz that was a long winded explanation. I'm on an upcycled blue jeans kind of thing right now so lots of items made out of denim but as time moves on I'll be adding all kinds of other fun things.
If you are not into making your own things, all of the stuff I make that you see in the videos will be for sale in either my Etsy Bits of Fiber shop or the MauveMoose Etsy shop.
